I’m Cristina Massei, an Italian-born, London-based photographer specialising in music, red-carpet, fashion, and boudoir photography. My passion for storytelling through images began in Rome, where I studied photography and journalism in the 1990s. That foundation in composition, lighting, and narrative shaped the distinctive style I bring to every project today—elegant, emotional, and authentic.
My career started in Italy and continued in London in the late 90s, capturing the world of live music; over the years I’ve photographed legendary artists including The Libertines, Metallica, Robbie Williams, and Kylie. In 2022, I joined Alamy’s Live News team, focusing on music and entertainment. Since then, my work has been published in The Guardian, The Times, Rolling Stone, NME, and international outlets. In 2025, I was featured in an Alamy blog reflecting on my journey and the challenges facing music photographers.
Beyond music, I bring the same creativity and attention to detail to fashion and event photography, whether documenting red-carpet glamour or styled editorial shoots. I also specialise in boudoir photography, where my aim is to create intimate, empowering, and stylish portraits that celebrate individuality with sensitivity and artistry.
Now based in London, I work as a recognised member of the UK press while also running Cristina Massei Photography as a freelancer, collaborating with clients across the UK and Italy. Whether on stage, in the studio, or at a private session, my goal is always the same: to capture timeless images filled with personality and emotion.

“Amazing… the best photos anyone has taken from all the so-called ‘photographers’ that I patronize, or have supported over the years… You have a wonderful ‘gift’ or maybe it is a talent.”
— Peter Doherty, The Libertines
